DESIGN PROCESS FIRST MEETING We meet to discuss your goals for the property and what is important to you and your family members. As we walk through your property, you can explain the functionality and features you require and the feeling or style you are trying to create. We will review my portfolio of plans and photos of installed designs; this helps to pinpoint your preferences for the color and texture of plant material, as well as other features. One to two weeks after our meeting I will provide a proposal and contract covering the scope of the design. Included will be a detailed cover letter reviewing your information and the findings of our meeting. You will need to provide a plot plan of your property before I begin the Preliminary Plan. PRELIMINARY PLANI will measure all the areas to be included in the design, take pictures, as well as perform a general site analysis. Using your plot plan, I will draw up the base plan showing structures and existing elements to stay. Included with the preliminary plan, I will establish and site appropriate plants for you to choose. I will design walls, walks, paths, patios, driveways etc. and suggest choices of materials to be used. SECOND MEETINGWe will meet again to review the Preliminary Plan, to discuss how the design addresses functionality and aesthetics. I will have plant pictures and perspective sketches as visual aides. I will get your feedback in order to make refinements or redesigns for the final plan. We will discuss implementation stages and preliminary budgetary numbers in order for me to include them with the final plan. If necessary you can take time to absorb the ideas and make key decisions. Upon confirmation from you I will complete the Master Plan. FINAL MEETING AND MASTER PLANWe will discuss how the plan defines the character of the property. How using the specific features, materials, and the plant list creates structure, color themes, scent and seasonal change, as well as the desired functionality to fit your lifestyle. We will review phases and budgets, next steps, for installation, as well as any other design services. |
